The Terra 40L is a women’s thru-hiking backpack developed as part of a Black Diamond Equipment–sponsored studio project during my junior year at Utah State University. Designed to empower and support women on long-distance treks, the pack prioritizes comfort, accessibility, and functionality.

Key features include a range of easily accessible storage solutions, such as a large front mesh pocket, exterior shock cord system, angled water bottle pockets, dual zippered hip belt pockets, and a roll-top closure. For a customizable fit, the Terra 40L integrates adjustable load lifter straps, a sliding sternum strap, and a torso height adjustment system.

Simple, lightweight, and durable, the Terra 40L is built to meet the unique needs of women who spend long days on the trail.
